Triple Time Thanksgiving

In honor of Thanksgiving and everything I have to be grateful for, I wanted to share this card with you.

This card uses a technique called Triple Time Stamping. If you've never done this and would like to learn how, read down to the bottom of my post for an explanation  The card base and mats are Always Artichoke. I stamped the images from the French Foliage stamp set on Very Vanilla card stock. The leaves are stamped in Always Artichoke, More Mustard and Cajun Craze classic inks. The script and water stains are stamped in Crumb Cake ink. The greeting is from the Day of Gratitude stamp set, and it is stamped in Early Espresso. I finished off the card with a Crumb Cake Seam Binding Bow.

And here is the inside. I used all the same colors. The "So Grateful" greeting is from the Apothecary Art stamp set.

Quick tutorial on Triple Time Stamping:
1) Cut three image panels, each about 1" smaller on both sides than the previous one. For this card I used panels that were 5-1/4" x 4", 4-1/4" x 3" and 3-1/4" x 2".

2) But a very small amount of adhesive in the center of the largest panel and adhere the second panel to it. Repeat to attach the third panel. Make sure you use either temporary adhesive or just a little bit of permanent adhesive, because you want to be able to take these pieces back apart.

3) Stamp your images on all three panels at the same time. As you can see in this photo, there will be gaps in the ink where the pieces of card stock come together. That is okay because those areas will be covered by the mats.

4) Take the three pieces of card stock apart and mat them, then reassemble for your completed card.

Thanks for reading my blog! I hope you all of you have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day!

Toxic Treats Halloween Card

Ouch, it's been six weeks since I posted last. Time to do something about that! Here is a cute Halloween card for you.

               Stamps: Toxic Treats
Paper: Basic Black, Cajun Craze, Whisper White, Wicked Fun DSP, Champagne Glimmer
                       Paper
               Ink: Black Stazon
Accessories: Adorning Accents Edgelits, 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon, Labels Collection
Framelits, Dimensionals, Self Adhesive Rhinestones, Sharpie marker
               Techniques: Coloring Rhinestones

This card is inspired by one that I saw on display and photographed. Unfortunately, I don't know who designed the original and I couldn't find it anywhere on the internet, so I don't know who to credit for my inspiration. The original stamper had used this image and the negative cutout (i.e. the left over pieces) from these dies to create a framed image. I used that I idea and just changed up colors, designer paper and embellishments a bit.

Here's the how to: The base is Basic Black card stock. I used a strip of designer paper from the Wicked Fun pack (retired but currently on the Clearance Rack) and a strip on Champagne color Glimmer Paper. I cut the glimmer paper with the Adorning Accents Edgelits. Then I added a strip of the Basic Gray and Black 1/2" Striped Satin Ribbon. I used the Labels Collection Framelits to make the frame for the image. (The black frame is 3-1/4" x 3-3/4" cut with the 3rd largest framelit and the Cajun Craze frame is 3" x 3-1/2" cut with the 2nd largest frame.) Then I stamped the image on a 3" x 3-1/2" piece of Whisper White card stock using Black Stazon ink. You don't have to cut out the white piece. Just attach the Cajun Craze frame to the White card stock with four dimensionals (one in each corner), and then using four more dimensionals attach the Black frame to the Cajun Craze piece. Then glue the image panel to your card front. As a finishing touch, I used a brown Sharpie to color some self adhesive Basic Jewels rhinestones and added those to the image. The brown sharpie gives a color that is a great match for Cajun Craze card stock.

Thanks for visiting my blog today, I hope you enjoyed this Halloween card!

Happy Apple-y Birthday

My card for you today is for this week's Inspiration and Ways to Use It challenges on Splitcoaststampers, and I used the cute sketch from the new challenge blog Fab Friday. So many challenges answered by one card! I just got the adorable new Perfectly Preserved stamp set and since the Ways to Use It challenge was "apples" how could I resist?
Stamps: Perfectly Preserved, Bring on the Cake
Paper: Wild Wasabi, Raspberry Ripple, Whisper White, Wild Wasabi DSP
Ink: Raspberry Ripple, Wild Wasabi, Versamark
Accessories: Wild Wasabi embossing powder, Finishing Touches Edgelits, In color dahlias, glue dot
Techniques: Heat Embossing

The base is Wild Wasabi. The main image panel and greeting are on Whisper White cardstock. I used Raspberry Ripple ink to stamp the apple images. (I love the new SU inks, they give such fabulous results!) I backed the image panel with Raspberry Ripple cardstock, cut with the one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits. I added a bit of Wild Wasabi patterned paper from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack. I used Versamark and Wild Wasabi embossing powder on the greeting, which is from the Bring on the Cake stamp set and finished it off with an In Color Dahlia (Raspberry Ripple) fastened by a glue dot.

I did a quick but cute dress up on the inside of the card using the same apple images and another greeting from the Bring on the Cake set. So cute and yet so easy!

Welcome Baby Banner

Hi everyone! Today I want to show you a banner that I made for a coworker. We had a baby shower for her and as one of her gifts and part of the party decorations, I made this pretty banner.

It was really simple to make and it packs a big wow! She is going to use it to decorate her nursery.

I cut out the pennants using the Perfect Pennants Bigz die and Certainly Celery designer paper (from the Subtles Designer Series Paper Stack). The doilies are made using Whisper White cardstock and the Delicate Doilies Sizzlet. The letters are made using Pink Pirouette cardstock and the Serif Essentials Alphabet dies (retired) and I coated the letters with a thick layer of Crystal Effects to give them a beautiful finish.

I made hangers for the pennants by adhering Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta ribbon with Sticky Strip between each pennant and doily. Then to finish off the pennant I used some Certainly Celery 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon, a safety pin from the Vintage Trinkets pack, a Certainly Celery button from the Subtles Designer Buttons pack and a bit of White Bakers Twine.

To create the welcome banner, I stamped the letters in Early Espresso on Whisper White using the Letter It stamp set. I cut them out by hand a positioned them on a strip of Certainly Celery designer paper. I added a Pink Pirouette 3/8" Taffeta ribbon hanger, flowers punched from Pink Pirouette cardstock using the Itty Bitty Punch Pack, self adhesive pearls and a Pretty in Pink button (Subtles Designer Buttons pack) with a bit of white Bakers Twine.

I hung the pieces of the banner on a length of Early Espresso 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon to finish. Viola! I hope you like it!

CAS Punch Art Lollipop

This card is for today's Splitcoaststampers CAS challenge, summer treats. Right off the bat, this theme made me think of those giant lollipops that they had at the zoo when I was a child. I had seen a beautiful punch art card on Splitcoast made by slfarrell. You can see her card here http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/photo/2226824 . I added a different greeting and a Real Red Glimmer Brad and here is what I came up with.

The base is Crumb Cake card stock, and I used a Crumb Cake card front too. I used a paper piercing tool and the Essentials Paper Piercing pack on the card front. The lollipop is made of 1" circles punched out of the following cardstocks; Wild Wasabi, Certainly Celery, Summer Starfruit, So Saffron, Daffodil Delight, Tangerine Tango, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, Real Red, Perfect Plum, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze and Bashful Blue. I assembled them with one of the self adhesive Shaker Frames as a base, and when it was assembled I added a Real Red Glimmer Brad from the Brights package.  I made the stick by rolling up a 2.5x3" sheet of printer paper. I had to roll it about three times to break down the fibers a bit and get it to be a tight enough roll. Then I glued it shut with Mulitpurpose Liquid glue. I tied a little strip of Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta ribbon around the stick and then glued it onto the card with Mulitpurpose Liquid glue. As a finishing touch I stamped the greeting from the Tiny Tags set in Pacific Point on Whisper White card stock,  punched it out with the jewelry tag punch and attached it by the ribbon using a glue dot.

The inside is pretty simple, I just stamped the candy image from Sweets for the Sweet along the bottom in Wild Wasabi, Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie, Melon Mambo and Perfect Plum. Then I added a greeting (inked in Pacific Point) from the Curly Cute set.

Calypso Coral Field Flowers

Today's card is for the Free for All Friday on Splitcoaststampers. They challenged us to use bold happy colors and my favorite right now is Calypso Coral. I love oranges!!

          Stamps: Field Flowers
Paper: Chocolate Chip, Calypso Coral, Naturals White
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie, Calypso Coral, Old Olive, Bashful Blue
Accessories: Vintage Wallpaper Embossing folder, Finishing Touches Edgelits,
Victoria Crocheted Lace, Sponge, Post-it note, Stamp-a-majig
          Techniques: Sponging, 2-step stamping

The main panel is Naturals White card stock. To make the main image panel on this card, I first stamped the leaves in Old Olive. Then I stamped the solid flower image in Pumpkin Pie and used a stamp-a-majig for placement to stamp the line flower image in Calypso Coral. The "with love" is stamped in Chocolate Chip. All stamps used on this card are from the Field Flowers set. After the panel was stamped, I covered about 1/4" of all four edges with post-it notes and sponged the image with Bashful Blue ink to create the blue rectangle around the flower.

The base is Chocolate Chip cardstock and the card front panel is Calypso Coral embossed with the Vintage Wallpaper folder and sponged with Chocolate Chip ink. I cut a strip of Naturals White cardstock with one of the Finishing Touches Edgelits and layered it with a strip of Chocolate Chip card stock and a piece of Victoria Crocheted Lace ribbon. I matted the flower image panel with Chocolate Chip card stock and attached it to the card with Dimensionals.
